The VentiVader concept started out of Dr. Marc Madou's BioMEMS laboratory at UC Irvine in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. After a small group built an initial proof-of-concept prototype, the team grew and added software engineers and UX/UI designers to build an iOS and Android app to support the ventilator design. As the VentiVader becomes more sophisticated and adds critical features and sensors, the team continues to grow!
At the moment, everyone on the team is working on the VentiVader on a volunteer basis, spending nights, weekends, and precious quarantine hours to help in any way they can during this crisis. If you want to become a part of the VentiVader team, shoot us an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) and we'll get back to you!
The team would like to acknowledge the Beckman Laser Institute for providing funding to buy parts for the VentiVader and RapidTech for allowing the team to use their advanced manufacturing facilities.
